Thanks to all who voted in the poll. The public has spoken, and Ringo Starr has been named Favorite Beatle by the Ringo and Friends readers. Thank you, and I hope you enjoy this delightful video I found made by a fan on youtube. Enjoy the great pictures of Ringo and one of his rare solos from his time with the Beatles.

RINGO!
It's too bad the girls are screaming so loudly on this clip that you can barely hear Ringo, but he is drumming his little heart out and really getting into the song! This is such a cool performance. I found it today, and had never seen it before. Yay for the boys for letting Ringo sing this one. From the audience's reaction, maybe that should have occurred more often! :) So, here he is...RINGO!

Celtic Comfort
Celtic music is one of my favorite types of music. Back in the spring, PBS aired a special featuring Celtic Thunder, which quickly became one of my favorite new groups. I first heard "Mull of Kintyre" from the Celtic Thunder guys and was instantly mesmerized by the beautiful bagpipes, touching lyrics, and captivating melody. When I learned that Paul McCartney wrote the song, I was anxious to hear his version, which was actually recorded by Wings. His version obviously does not disappoint. In fact, I love it! I am posting his version, as well as the Celtic Thunder version, since I heard it first, and I really love that group. I encourage you to buy both the DVD Celtic Thunder, as well as the CD, as they are both filled with fantastic music. You can buy them both here. I know you will love them. And now, for the song that has become one of my favorites of all time.
And now...Celtic Thunder's version.
Please let me know what you thought of both of them.

Love them.
I really like this song. I just finished discs 2 and 3 of the anthology, and this is the song I remember most from the anthology. It's the one that gets stuck in my head at least three or four times a day now. Something about those "yeahs". Ringo knows they're cool. I love his face at 1:08. He's clearly the cutest Beatle. Hands down. :)

"Very good that, George."
For all of the George fans out there, since he seems to be ahead in the poll, here's another one of my favorites from A Hard Day's Night. Besides, they're all so cute in this one anyway. Enjoy it. (And listen for John's quote, the title of this post. One of my favorite parts.)

No need to be afraid...
This video is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. It's full of symbolism and sadness. However, when the smiles appear on their faces toward the end, the nostalgia brings forth an unmistakable joy. Also, one feels that inevitable sorrow that one of the members is missing, and all of these emotions join to create...real love. Watch with tissues in hand. Listen to the lyrics, and watch it through to the end. One of my favorite things. It would definitely be written into my own Rodgers and Hammerstein-esque composition. This is for John and George.

Ticket to Ride...
When I first saw Help! this was instantly my favorite part of the movie. It's such a great scene, and this has always been one of my favorite Beatles songs. This video really brings out their personalities and individuality. How can you not love these lads?
